Whole genome sequencing (WGS) at 10x coverage depth will be performed on 300 non-redundant accessions of the Wild Barley Diversity Collection (WBDC). The sequencing effort will be led by Martin Mascher, Nils Stein and Uwe Scholz at the Leibniz-Institut für Pflanzengenetik und Kulturpflanzenforschung (IPK). Illumina whole-shotgun libraries will be prepared for all WDBC accessions following the manufacturer’s instructions and sequenced on the Novaseq6000 device at IPK. We anticipate the initial sequence data will be available by January 2021, while primary analyses (i.e. quality control, read mapping, variant call format, k-mer counts) will be completed by August 2021.
