- November 2020: Seed of 11 select accessions of the Wild Barley Diversity Collection sent to IPK for high resolution sequencing as part of the pan-genome project for Hordeum vulgare ssp. spontaneum.
- January 2021: Funds required for the sequencing of the Wild Barley Diversity Collection is attained through crowd-sourcing of interested researchers from around the world. Flow cells purchased.
- February 2021: Final shipment of DNA of Wild Barley Diversity Collection sent to IPK in Gatersleben, Germany for sequencing. Library construction commences.
